Who’s Charlie?

Charlie Pittman is a recent graduate of Marist University with Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Fine Art. Philosophically inclined from an early age, he has spent much of his life investigating life's big questions—seeking his own answers while engaging with the great thinkers of history. Through this pursuit, he came to understand the profound importance of aesthetics and art, spending years visiting institutions like the Met and MoMA. His appreciation for these art galleries has pushed him to work in the Steel Plant Art Gallery for the 2025-2026 school year, and is seeking a post-graduate career in gallery work. In the last three years, Pittman has concentrated his practice in drawing, painting, and photography with a particular focus on oil painting. During the 2024–2025 academic year, he studied abroad in Florence, where he honed his skills and broadened his perspective through full immersion in one of the world's great centers of art history. Drawing from postimpressionism, fauvism, surrealism, and abstract expressionism, he works with a rich, expansive color palette to create emotionally layered work.
